Papa with his first 3 grandkids!

Jack with his buddy Myles!

Getting to color on the big stools!

Mommy's idea with having him "help" cook!  Messy!

Jack helping Daddy bake cookies!

Mommy's baby girl

Jack loves playing his harmonica (whistle)

And this was the last hit with the "drumsticks".  He has now had to throw away both bongos for hitting too hard.

Happy Mother's Day 2012!

We ripped up our old deck.  (3 years old)  The composite decking did not work with all the sunshine it received so we are putting on a new cedar deck!

This was a picture of the day that I tried to give Jack Greek yogurt.  I don't like it myself, but wanted to see if he could replace it.  I was feeing Hanna and kept asking him if he liked it.  He'd respond, "Yep!"  When Justin got home for work he had rubbed it all over his body like lotion.  Bath time.  And no...he does not like it.

Last Kindermusic with Miss Anita!  We went through 2 sessions with Jack and Miss Anita.  She is amazing.  Here's Jack holding his "listening" ears the whole time.  Very literal.
...still holding...

Instrument basket.  Jack is so patient and usually waits for everyone else to get their instruments.  He will lean forward after one that he wants, and then give up if someone cuts in front of him.

The infamous stamps!  He loved coming home and showing either me or Daddy this!

This has been her face for the last month.  Must be teething!

Hanna and Baby Landon on their first visit to our house since he was born!

Jack entertained both babies by playing his 'play ga tay ga-tar'.  He loved the audience and they seemed to love it too! Playing Yankee Doodle over...

Such a good audience!

...and over...

...and over again!

Drums.  The loudest present ever.  (Thank you Grandma Joyce).  We told him he had to play downstairs so he snuck his way up to the landing thinking that might still cut it.  Um..no.

On our way to Sesame Street Live!  Jack was sooo excited!  We had a lot of fun and he even got to touch Cookie Monster's hand!

Bode, Jack, Hanna, and Emery eating pizza!

Emery and Jack watching Happy Feet.  Friends for life!

Bode and Emery's daddy Joe!  Jack saw him laying down like this and had to join him.  Looks like someone has a fan!

Jack-2 years 5 months

-Jack got mad at me because I couldn’t juggle 5 balls in the tubby.  Kept handing me balls, “Juggle!!”  …very demanding this one!

-One day Jack said he wants to be a teacher and wanted to use his hammer at work like Mommy does.

-When reading books he will switch roles and point to things.  He’ll point to the fruit.  I say what it is, and he’ll say, “Good!” “Good job!”

-One night we got home from music and Jack ran in the door looking for Hanna, but she was sleeping.  He ran to her bouncy and stood on it so sad saying, “Wanna see Hannnnnna.”

-Jack has been striving for more independence.  So we let him go downstairs by himself for a few minutes.  The first day we told him he could he would get so excited, walk down the stairs and yell up, “Ok!  See you in two weeks!”  Then he would come right back up, ask permission, get permission, and then repeat the saying.   He would get a little scared and stop sometimes to play on the stairs. So funny!

-Jack told Justin to go play downstairs and then go potty to get MM’s.

-STALLING.  Jack has perfected this!  He will try anything to get out of going to bed or taking a nap or changing his diaper…..in the car and on the stairs.  “2 minutes, Spider, etc.”  At daycare, he would say bye and then say, “You forgot your kiss!”  I would try to leave, then he would say, “You forgot your hug!”  Or saying, “No, I do it!”

-One night Hanna was crying, and Jack stopped building a tower and grabbed ducky.  He brought ducky to me and said, “For baby…..heya.”

-Jack likes to ask what time it is.  Probably because I always do.  To Justin, “What time is it?”  Justin said, “6:27”.  Jack said, “Oh.”  Then he said it again, to which Justin answered with 6:28.  Jack responded, “Oh.”

-After daycare, I brought Jack in and left Hanna in the car.  Jack started whining, “No, no you forgot Hanna!  No no!”

-Sweeping the kitchen, “I broomin’ Daddy!”

-Singing.  All the time.  Before bed and nap, and even before lunch one day, he will sing, “Yessssss, Jesus Loves Me” or “Oh Holy Night.”  His favorite part of that is ‘rejoices, and divine’.   He will belt it out!  So sweet!

-Fixin’ things.  He loves to pretend he’s workin or fixin things.  He will find something to bang like a hammer on the wall, or the railing of the stairs, or a toy.

-Playing crocodile.  “Look out, the crocodile will get you!”  He made Daddy be the croc one night and lay on the floor.  He covered him up with a blankie and animals everywhere.  “There’s your stuff.  Your monkey…”

-Sesame Street Live: Jack’s first time!!  They asked the audience, “What’s red, crunchy, and part of a healthy lunch?!”  Jack yelled out, “BACCONNNNNNN!”  While everyone else said ‘Apple’ of course.  It was so funny because he didn’t have a clue.  But we did eat bacon for breakfast that morning…so that’s probably why.  Also, Grover kept falling over on stage and he would laugh so loud in this grumbly sort of way.  He loved that part!  And he got to touch Cookie Monster’s hand!!  He also got to see a helicopter take off too!

-On the way to the Farmer’s Market he kept saying, “Yay, going to Marker’s Farm!”  After it was over, “We going to Markey’s House?”  Looking at the buildings downtown he was in awe of their size.  He kept saying, “Whoa castle….huge…castle!”

-Cooking in his kitchen downstairs is so fun for him and us!  He will take trip after trip…”You want coffee Mommy?”  “K.”  (cocks head to side) “Here go Honey”…..then, “Want donut?”  “And spaghetti?”  He brings it over to me…”Cool off?”  “K.”  Then takes it to microwave and waits for the ding.  “K.”  “Here go Honey.”  Back and forth.  He also loves playing tennis downstairs and smacking the ball!

This kid is so much fun!  A handful at times but man do we love you Jackie!  You crack us up every second of the day!  Love you baby boy!

Dear Hanna,

You are 5 months old baby girl!!  You continue to grow and melt our hearts.  You are the sweeeeeeetest baby ever.  You are content with most things that we do, as long as I feed you first, and that you have a quiet place to nap.  You will smile at everyone.  You like it when I say, “Boo!” in your face, and you can tell when we are trying to be funny.  You laugh when we throw you up in the air, and smile ear to ear and coo while we lay you on the counter to get ready for bath every night.  Bath time is your favorite!!!  When you are in the bath, you flop around and kick like a seal!  Water splashes everywhere because you flop up and down and up and down.
We like to stick to a routine with you, and you seem to like it as well!  Since I am home from work for the summer, you like to sleep in a little…until a little before 7:00 most mornings.  You then eat, play, and then go down for a little morning nap.  Sometimes you nap for 20 minutes, but sometimes it’s an hour or 2!  After nap you wake up, play, and then eat again.  During lunch you like to sit in your Bumbo on the counter and watch us eat….so curious to watch how we put food into our mouths or watch us drink from a straw!  You also like to swing sometimes too.  You then take a  nap around 1:00, and sleep for at least an hour or two.  Then you wake up and eat, play, we maybe go for a walk or play outside, and then Daddy comes home!  You take a tubby at around 5:30 or so now, and then eat at about 6:00-6:45 or 7:00!  Then you go to bed and sleep through the night!  You have slept through the night since you were 2.5 months old!  You eat and then Mommy just lays you right in your crib with lambie on heartbeat and your fan on.
When you play, you like to watch your big brother make silly faces at you, or just watch him play with his toys or his Buzz Lightyear all around the room.  You like to lay on the floor and look up at the ceiling fan, but you roll from your tummy to your back, and back to tummy now.  You are never in the same place we left you.  Even in your crib, we will lay you on your back and night, and your body moves like a minute hand on a clock as you slowly turn facing your feet at different parts of the room throughout the night.  You usually roll to your belly now too to sleep.  I love watching you in the monitor just perched up like a seal.  The other day, you were actually spun completely around, perched like a seal, and watching tv.  Oops!
You don’t eat any rice cereal yet.  Dr. Shash said that since you’re sleeping through the night, we don’t need to feed it to you!  You will start to eat some veggies next month!
You just recently started to teeth and flip your lip in and out.  It hasn’t bothered you too much until the last couple of nights, so we’ve had to get out some Orajel and the ice cube in the net.  Poor baby.
I think the sweetest thing about you is your smile.  You will just stare at me with your big blue eyes, and once I notice, you just smile at me with such happiness.  You are so sweet baby girl and I love you so very much!!

Love, Mommy
