We have had a great July! Summer is going too fast! I'm loving staying home with them this summer, and I'm going to miss them so much when I go back to work.
Rainforest Cafe! Jack thought this was the coolest. We went here in Minneapolis the weekend of the Staebell Invitational! Now when we say we are going out to eat, he asks if Froggy and rain will be there!
My cousin's kids Max and Ty with Jack!
Here's the Staebell Invite group! We went to Minneapolis for the annual Staebell Invitational. There were so many of us and we keep multiplying! 5 of us cousins had babies this year. I think we have a total of 73 people and there were over 50 of us at Andy and Wendy's house!
Baby girl
Jack swimming at the hotel with all of my cousins and their kids! He had a blast doing this for 3 nights!
Cousins Landon and Hanna
Aunt Woa reading a book. Jack loves his Aunt Laura!
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse pancakes!

Helping fold
I'm sure this was a "I wanna do it" moment meltdown
My Mother's Day present from Justin was to spruce up the screened in porch! I love it and can't wait for the fall so we can actually use it more!
The finished product of our deck and landscaping. Even though we have to water every night for up to 2 hours, we know it will be worth it...and that eventually, it will rain again someday!
I put out finger paints for Jack to play with while I nursed Hanna. I turned my back for 2 seconds, and he had it all over his legs, the high chair, and counter. It was even splattered on the wall! Looks like more supervision is necessary!
Guilt
Playin with Grandma Mary!
We moved Jack to a big boy bed for the second time! Since it was not successful at 18 months, we waited until now! He hasn't gotten out once and it's been 2 weeks! He even waits for us in the morning and after nap to come get him. Such a good boy buddy!
A typical summer day in the morning!
Going to the park with Grandma Joyce. He was pretty excited about this!
Helping Daddy put on our storm door. He loves helping Daddy work or do anything!
Rice cereal! We haven't had to use this yet since Hanna is sleeping 6:15-6:00 every night! We just started feeding it to her at night and she can't get enough!
Cleaning...with his tongue out just like Justin used to do!
Precious
Jack wanted to help Hanna get some toys. He likes to just throw a pile on top of her!
Classic
Peas! Hanna started off this week eating peas! She's not too sure about the taste yet but eats them anyways because she knows that's what she supposed to do. Such a good baby!
My silly little boy!
8-2-12
Jack-2 years 7 months
old!
-Ordering food. Jack
likes to ask, “What you want today?” One
day he was holding a coaster and other toy pretending it was food and delivered
my toast and broccoli like I had ordered.
I then asked him to take it back since I was finished eating it, and he
said he doesn’t do that. I asked him who
cleans up this stuff after we’re done ‘eating’ and he said, “Ummm….Gwumpa
Bob!”
-He loves mimicking adults.
Apparently he sees me or Justin crossing our arms a lot. One night while I was eating next to him and
Justin was giving Hanna a bath, I would ask him what his favorite part of the
day was. He would answer by taking a
bite, crossing his arms, saying, “Ummmmmmm” and then answering with a part of
our day. I then would have to answer his
question of what my favorite part of the day was.
-Playing downstairs!
This kid thinks everyones basement is so cool. He loves going downstairs. One time I told him that he could put his train
on the table to play with….he said, “Thank you Mommy!” I said, “You’re welcome.” He then would respond, “Thank you sayin
you’re welcome to me!” He uses the
sweetest highest voice. I love when he
is so happy like this!!
-Watching Lion King parts or Happy Feet parts EVERY
NIGHT! He loves these two. He calls Lion King “Hey – Ya” because the
song at the beginning sounds like that.
He loves to dance to all the songs on Happy Feet. He and I will sit on the ottoman and jump up
to dance together like they do during the movie! We have to fast forward to the dancing parts
only. In Lion King, he loves singing,
“I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts, doodly do, all of them standing in a
rowwwwwww. Long ones short ones, SOME AS
BIG AS YOUR HEAD!” He sings this in an
accent. He is so Mommy! He also loves the monkey and knows that he
lives in a tree. The other day we turned
on Lion King and the castle came on at the beginning of the movie. Jack said, “ I wanna go there!” (Just like he wants to go to Big Ben) He
said, “Me, Aunt Woa, Unca Mike, Baby Landon, Papa, Mommy, Daddy, Hanna…..”
-Loves showing off his moves. ‘Watch this’ ‘Look at this’ and then is silly
or rolls on ground sticking one leg in the air.
The other day he did this and said, “Look Daddy, I do
gym-plastics!’ (gymnastics) Must be because of the Olympics!
-Jack loves to makes his baby sister smile. He will get right in her face and be goofy to
make her smile! He’ll mimic me and say,
“Guh” since that’s really the only syllables we can make out. So I’m always saying that to her.
-STALLER! Biggest.
Staller. Ever. He is just like his
Mommy. He will always find a way to make
it one more minute, one more treat, one more car, one more stuffed animal. For instance, each morning he wants to bring
up stuffed animals and his blanket. I
tell him he can bring one. He says,
“Okay, bwing Doggie, and Girl” Then
grabs penguin and blankie trying to just hide it from me. I ignore it usually because nobody likes an
argument in the morning.
-2 minutes.
Everything needs 2 more minutes.
-Helping. He likes to
help me with laundry, pushing buttons, dishwasher, and sometimes dusting!
-Snuggling. You like
to do this before bedtime and in the mornings.
My favorite time.
-Playing baseball, baket-ball, running away from Daddy and
having him pull your pants saying, “You get back here!” You giggle and love your Daddy so much!
-You love to run around downstairs and are constantly saying, “Look out for the
crocodile” or giant!
-You very much think you are in charge right now, and when I
ask you who’s in charge, you assure me that you are.
I love you big boy!
You will always be my baby boy!
Thank you for making me laugh every single day! I love you so much!!
Love, Mommy
Dear Hanna,
Hanna, I
love you so much my little sweetheart.
You are so patient, precious, and smiley. I love your chubby cheeks, your rolly thighs,
and your beautiful smile. You and your brother are the loves of my life. You are my happiness and I know your dad
feels the same way. We never have felt
luckier to have our little family of four!
I’m still
home with you this summer, and I absolutely love it. We try to go out once a day and you don’t
mind getting in your carseat. You like
going on little trips! You wake up at
about 6:00 every morning! Daddy brings
you in to me to nurse you, and you are very happy, but the second you see me,
you’ve started to get fussy because you want to eat NOW! Your focus gets taken when you hear Daddy
taking a shower and you lose interest in eating. When he leaves for work he kisses you all
over your face and you try to suck on his nose.
You love your Daddy!
After Daddy
goes to work, you and I hang out in my bed with your Boppy for anywhere from 30
minutes to an hour. You like to watch
the fan, watch a little tv, or just stare and whine at Mommy to get out of
bed. After your whining makes me feel
bad enough, we get up and come to the living room. I start the coffee right away!! And we wait for your brother to wake up. He loves to wake up and run right up to see
you! He gets in your face and says, “Hi
Hanna, Hi Hanna” over and over and giggles to you! It’s so sweet to see you two together. He’s a great big brother!
We play for
a couple of hours, you sit in your Bumbo while Jack and I eat breakfast, you nurse
again and then go down for a little morning nap around 9:00. You’ve been taking a pretty long one 1-2
hours, but then won’t nap later. Today
you only napped for 20 minutes, so you are sleeping right now for an afternoon
nap which is great!
After your
nap, we usually go have a play date, or go to the store, or the library. We tried the pool but the sun is too hot for
you, and you don’t seem to like swimming yet.
Avie has babysat you a couple of times, and sometimes Grandma Mary comes
to watch you. You do a pretty good job
but you love when your Mommy is here!
During
lunch, you sit in your Bumbo on the counter again and you eat baby food. You’ve eaten sweet potatoes, peas, green
beans, and today you had carrots. You
eat anything, but I think you like the orange veggies better. I then nurse you and either play with you
while Jack naps, or you go down for an afternoon one.
After naps,
we go run an errand or just play downstairs and wait for Daddy to get home.,
feed you baby food, give you a tubby at
around 5:15 with your brother, and then I nurse you in your room before putting
you to sleep on your side. You usually
roll right to your belly. Your teeth
have been hurting lately, so sometimes you flip all the way around and whimper
for us to hold you longer. We give in
because you are too precious. You sleep
all through the night. Such a good baby.
I think
what I enjoy most about you is how you smile at everyone you see. You love to smile and be sweet and are pretty
much happy all the time! If you are
crying, you are overly tired or want to eat.
You like to be in the action watching kids play or watching Jack play or
try to make you laugh. You like your
jumparoo, your swing, and just like laying on the ground on a blanket
surrounded by toys. You roll all over
the place! You like to chew on Sophie
the giraffe, rings, dollies, and really anything that’s close to you. You are a grabber! You are so fast too. You will see something laying close to you
and try to snatch it up right away! You
can sit up with a little support, but do a great job. You found your voice. Big time!
You love to scream and yell high pitched yelps…especially when Jack is
napping. I think it’s the only time you
have a chance to talk!
I just love
you so much little Hanna girl. I call
you Hanner sometimes too. You are my
baby girl and I am so excited for our girl times that we will have in the
future. It will be so much fun to spend
time with my baby girl. I also look
forward to you and your brother growing up together. He protects you and loves you so much. He tries to play with you by playing with his
cars in front of you, handing you one of them to hold, throwing all of your
toys on top of you when you are in your swing, bringing you Sophie after you
throw her on the ground, or just talking to you in your face moving his head
side to side saying your name and ‘Hi’ over and over.
You are my
baby angel, my baby girl, and I love you so much. I want time to stand still.
Love you forever,
Mommy
