October 2013

October has come and gone!  We spent our time keeping warm inside, playing outside when the sun was shining, going to Howell's Pumpkin farm with Grandma Joyce, going to the Halloween celebration in the square, going to the library in our costumes, and trick or treating with Papa!  We also had a big month because we will be adding BABY #3 to our family!  We are so excited, yet very nervous about how our lives will change.  We know we can handle it, but now that I stay home, things will be a bit different with having the new baby and both kids home with us for my "maternity leave".  I'm excited to prove to myself that I can handle it, and very excited to complete our family of 5.  We won't find out what we are having again...which makes it SO much more exciting for us!  The kids are both pumped.

Jack waiting eagerly for all the trick or treaters after we got home.  I think he liked handing out candy more!  He acted like such an adult!  Opening the door, telling them to choose two pieces if they want, and then laughing hysterically at their jokes he didn't even understand.  He then would tell some visitors to have fun after they walked away.  Such a sweetie.

Hanna putting herself in timeout because I told her she couldn't do something!

Park time!

Hanna's first session of swimming lessons!  She LOVED them!  She's not afraid of anything, but kept drinking the water and sneaking it!

Jack's first field trip!  I got to join Jack's class on their trip to the fire station.  He thought this was so cool!  I'm so lucky to be able to do things like this now.

My Curly Sue.

Trip to the zoo with Mommy!

Hanna's very first carousel ride!

Great Aunt Gail and Great Grandma Betty!

Ice Age movie time

Hanna eating her 2nd helping...finishing Jack's refusal!

Jam session at Papa's...one of their favorite new things to do!

Our lake lots!  So excited for our future family time here!  A long time from now!

Jack Stories:
-The other day we were driving home.  Jack kept talking about Santa, and I told him that Christmas wasn't just about Santa.  I then asked him, "Do you know whose birthday is on Christmas?"  He said very confidently, "Ya, it's Hanna's."  I told him that was true, but it was also Jesus'.  He then asked, "Whoooooooo's Jeeeeesus?"  I couldn't believe what I was hearing.  Bob and Vickie talked about Jesus everyday at daycare.  He tells us Jesus is in his heart.  He loves singing Jesus Loves Me.  I then gave him this long explanation about how God created everything, and Jesus is his son.  And we are so blessed and lucky....this went on for awhile and I thought he was intently listening.  I then said Jesus is the man on the cross at church.  He said, "Mom, that's a statue."  After more explaining on my part,   he then said very excitedly, "Mooooom, LOOK!  A COW!"

-Hanna sometimes is just so sweet to Jack.  She brought him his sippie the other day downstairs, and ran it over to him saying, "Here honey.  Here ya go."  Jack looked at me almost disgusted, "Mom, why is she calling me Honey?"  I explained that it was sweet just like when he calls her Sweetie.  He said, "Moooooom....SHE is NOT my parent.  I am NOT her kid.  We're YOUR kids."

-Jack told me the other day that he didn't want to make energy balls because the chopped peanuts will make a mess and that he just couldn't handle that.  (Oh my.....sounds like I've been saying 'I just can't handle that' a little too much lately.

-"Mom, you're makin' me sassy!  And I don't like it when you make me sassy!"

-Jack doesn't like it when Justin eats his sandwiches upside down, doesn't like it when Justin doesn't have his shorts on over his boxers.

-Favorite shows: Justin Time, Ice Age: Age of Dinosaurs, Little Einsteins (again)

-Favorite food: pizza, macaroni and cheese, treats, snacks, Halloween candy, cookies, ice cream, strawberries

Hanna Stories:

-Hanna is such a little snuggler!  She will nuzzle her blanket, soft animals, or us!  It's awesome!  Her cute poofy cheeks and little kisses make us smile every single day!

-This sweet little snuggled, also has a sassy side!  She loves to take Jack's toys, or beat him to what toy he's going after.  Her only words to explain her frustration seem to be, "Owwwieee!"  She says this when she is mad while she whines or cries.

-She hasn't put herself in timeout for a little while, but does lose her patience often!  She's getting better about not knocking over my just folded laundry, but picking up the house is pretty much pointless with her wandering around.  She's like a bull in a china store sometimes!  She also falls much more than Jack did.  She falls off the couch, down the stairs, trips, slips, anything!  All the time!

-She's a tough one.  She enjoys when Jackie knocks her down and playing rough with him!  I absolutely love when they are playing peacefully together and getting along!

-Hanna loves singing 'Where is ____, where is _____, I dun know!  I dun know!  She even sings it when we pick Jack up from preschool.

-Favorite shows: Super 'Pie', Ice Age: Age of Dinosaurs

-Favorite food: milk, treats, Halloween candy, green beans, cheese, bananas, strawberries

*They love playing dress up together, fighting over toys, playing with cars and trucks on the kitchen floor, eating snack together on the picnic table downstairs, eating at the counter next to each other, sitting in boxes, playing outside, and running downstairs!  They also LOVE wrestling with Daddy!  They also love singing and dancing to Super Why! (Super Pie as Hanna calls it!)
