Jack wanted to be in the picture, so he put on his hat and played his guitar.
Dear Hanna,
You are 3 weeks old. I continue to get to know you and love you more and more each day! You are so much fun to be around everyday! I love being with you. You are so funny....a bit dramatic, but extremely sweet and particular. You have a very specific order in which you do things. You have to dirty your diaper, get it changed QUICKLY, eat, and then fall asleep within 10 minutes after you are finished. If you go to the bathroom while you are eating, the whole process starts over. You usually get the hiccups right after we lay you down as well. We'll give you gripe water and hold you until you fall asleep. You are yawning right now on the couch and I love that it sounds exactly like I yawn. You can be so fussy, but then find one thing that you think looks interesting and just stare and stare at it with your bobble head. You have been lifting your head off our shoulder while we hold you since about week 1. Sometimes your face crashes into ours, or you suck on our nose as you pass by. My favorite cry of yours is your fake one where you don't open the back of your throat. You throw your head back and have the most pitiful look on your face like, "Why can't you figure out what I want Mom?!" Right now I'm watching you stretch your long legs out as you lay on the couch. You love looking at lights above you and ceiling fans. You really love to be held to fall asleep before being laid down. If we lay you down too early, it can take you a long time to go back to sleep. I think you'd prefer to just sleep on one of us! Right now you eat every 2 hours or so. At night, you do the same...but sometimes can make it 4 hours. This weekend, we went on our first trip back to Waterloo to spend time with Aunt Laura, Uncle Mikey, Uncle Mike, and Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Mick. We had fun! The first night you slept on the ottoman in the living room with Grandma Joyce from about 1-6 AM. The next night, you slept downstairs with Daddy and then Grandma came down to relieve him and brought you up to me to feed you. You love sleeping on your side on couches and ottomans. It's much squishier than a pack n play. You spent your first night in your room on Sunday (your 3 week birthday). You slept from about 11:30-4. You then slept until 7:30! I usually just come out to the living room with you now instead of laying in our bed with you until 10 or 11 like we did a few days! Although that is wonderful and so fun, I think that confuses you on days and nights. Last night you went to bed at 10, woke up at 12, 2, 4...and then were awake 4-6:30 AM! Long night but we got a nice nap today. You like to sleep most of the day still, but do spend a couple of hours awake which is great! I love seeing your big eyes open and looking around with your wrinkly forehead and bobbly head!
We love you baby girl! We can't believe you are almost 1 month old!
Love, Mommy and Daddy
